Young Friends and Sportsmen!

I am very pleased that the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship and the town of Kruszwica are the hosts of European Junior Rowing Championships. This is a superb opportunity to present our region – Cuiavia and Pomerania, to youth from many European countries. Sport is a perfect ground for international understanding and a chance to establish friendships. I believe that the youth that arrives in Kruszwica shall be joined by something more than competition on the racing track.

Kujawsko-Pomorskie is developing sports. European Junior Rowing Championships is not the only big event organized in our region this year. Another just as prestigious event is the European Athletics Festival in Bydgoszcz, or European Athletics Superleague in Toruń. There are many investments in sport infrastructure, during the last 4 years we allotted over 25 million Euro for construction of football pitches, swimming pools, tracks and stadiums, we constructed 145 sites in the scope of “My pitch – Orlik 2012” programme.

I welcome you in Poland, in Cuiavia and Pomerania, in the region that supports youth, activity and creativity. I hope that you will leave here with unforgettable memories and will come back here in the future.
