Kruszwica ...........
Kruszwica is a town in kujawsko- pomorskie province ( 52° 40'38'' N,18° 19'45'' E), which is situated near Gopło Lake. The town has almost 10 thousand inhabitants on area over 9.800 hectares. Municipal rights were given in 1422 by a king Władysław Jagiełło. The legendary capital of Piasts Monarchy - Kruszwica with their local commune has 26.219 hectares and the majority of soil is agricultural but 6.600 hectares is a reserve of Nadgoplański Park Tysiąclecia.
The name Kruszwica comes from a clod of salt which was called “kruszwa”. In the Middle Ages in this area the salt was “weight” from the local layer of brine. The emblem of the town is a picture of green pear, the old Polish symbol of wealth. Kruszwica is beautifully located near Gopło Lake and its location is the great encouragement to visit this magnificent district of Kujawy..
In Kruszwica you can see:The Mouse Tower: it is made of bricks, octagonal tower which has 32 meters height it is on Rzępowski peninsula at Gopło Lake. The most interesting thing is the architecture because the tower inside has round sh ape . This is the part of a castle which was built by Kazimierz Wielki in 1350. At first it was a fortalice which was about to protect Kruszwica from the Knight of the cross. After breakdown of the convent, it was the abode of Kruszwica’s castellany. It was devastated by Swedes in 1657 year but earlier it was occupied by them for two years. The tower was bought back by Adam who gave Swedes ransom from pigs and cattle. From 1895 it is a tourist attraction of Kruszwica and the vantage point.

from the tower is just amazing .  
On the ‘Goplo’ lake there is one of the best and the most known regatta course, not only in Poland, but in most part of Europe, as well.
